The experience gained in over 70 years of activity in the railway track sector, the use of the most recent technologies, the employment of the most modern machines, the conception and design of ad hoc machines capable of minimizing time and maximizing results: it is on the construction sites that GCF and the Group companies have taken on challenges, overcome obstacles, innovated processes, and refined their organizational and execution models.
It is in the field that we have expressed our best, achieving excellent results in terms of quality, safety and performance and earning the trust of customers.
We have supported the development of the Italian railway network since the 1950s.
The construction of new lines, renewal and rehabilitation projects, ordinary maintenance lots have been our training ground, in a country where limited timeframes, mostly night-time schedules, restrictions and strict specifications have constituted an additional stimulus for improvement.
With this background of knowledge, experience, tools and technologies, we have faced the challenges of High Speed and Capacity, which have allowed us to optimize and capitalize on the know-how acquired. More than one third of the Italian national network dedicated to High Speed runs on lines and routes prepared by GCF.
For years we have been engaged in the maintenance of the Italian railway network and in the construction of international railway works in compliance with the most stringent standards of quality, safety and environmental compatibility. The entry, in the last ten years, into the metropolitan and tramway sector has allowed us to refine methodologies, knowledge and tools.
With the acquisition of leading companies in the Electrification and Signalling segments, we have been able to gain a leading role in the supply of integrated track-catenary projects and to confidently approach international markets.
We have developed an efficient business unit dedicated to the maintenance of machines and locomotives; our R&D Division is engaged in the conception and development of tools that make the railway network more modern, efficient and safe.
