Matisa C90
power and efficiency
A summary of 30 years of experience, the C90 ballast cleaner is a heavy-duty articulated machine characterised by a simple, central duct ensuring easy maintenance and unmatched work precision: trains can circulate at 60 km/h immediately after ballast treatment without any additional intervention.
Its mobility in drive trim (80 km/h), rapid positioning on site as well as excellent production capacity (up to 800 m3/h), make the C90 an extremely effective solution.
The machine
The machine comprises two inter-linked units: a drive unit and a screen with two bogies - the central bogie is accompanied by a bissel and a ballast excavation unit on the other bogie. The chassis structures of these units are built using steel profiles and meet the strength conditions required by the UIC standards. The chain excavator, transporters and screens are over-sized and ensure high-quality work.
Measurement system
Work precision, versatility and straightforward operation are ensured by a measurement system that includes measurement sensors and accurate and reliable electronics.
This measurement system controls the geometrical position displayed by the lifting clamp and the movement of the excavation chain, as well as the horizontal setting of the machine chassis.
These values, including super-elevation, are shown in the work cab and can be recorded.
The clamp
The movement clamp is sued to shift the track sideways into its original position or a new position. In this way, the excavation depth and angle, vertical position and track sleeper deposited behind the machine will correspond exactly to the defined work progress plan.
