A single train for laying new tracks
The special “La Meccanica" track-laying train was developed thanks to GCF’s experience in the railway superstructure sector.
Unique of its kind, it was designed specifically to meet the construction needs of High Speed lines and thanks to the innovative, expert ideas of track laying technicians and workers.

Thanks to this combination of technology and human resources, GCF can lay 16 sleepers per minute (approximately 9 metres of track per minute) and thereby build new tracks at the rate of over 1 km of line per day.
The machine is equipped with software that records and manages all activities to ensure maximum precision in all work stages, even the most delicate, such as geometrical monitoring and electric welding.
