Renewal and track laying trains
7 renewal and 3 track-laying trains in the GCF fleet.
All distinguished by power, versatility and performance. They include the special "La Meccanica" track-laying train, patented by GCF and designed and built specifically for the construction of High Speed lines.
Sorema TR45
An agile and powerful train for track construction
Designed for sleeper laying, adjustment, and rail positioning on the sleepers using lifting clamps, the Sorema TR45 Track Laying Train is an articulated vehicle composed of a powered car with two bogies, both equipped with powered wheelsets, and a trailing car equipped with a single bogie with carrying wheelsets, connected to the powered car by means of a spherical-joint drawbar. This feature allows the connection between the two semi-vehicles to be non-rigid and capable of allowing free movement along three axes, enabling operation on curves with a radius as tight as 150 m.
Speed, precision, and safety
The TR45 track laying train has been designed to optimize machine performance in order to achieve unmatched precision in the work carried out and high productivity in terms of time. The track laying train is capable of reaching a maximum working speed (in self-propelled mode) of 4 km/h and a production rate of 450 m/h of new track, in complete safety.
Additional equipment
The cab, made of soundproof and thermally insulated material, is equipped with a lowered operator position with direct visibility of the conveyors and the sleeper laying unit, as well as two additional forward-facing seats for the operator and escort staff.
The vehicle is also equipped with:
• Internal combustion engine connected to a coupling on which hydraulic pumps for traction and auxiliary services and a rotary compressor are installed
• Hydrostatic traction for the working phase only
• Conveyor belts for sleeper transport
• Sleeper positioning and gauge adjustment unit
• Rail lifting clamps
• Rail guide clamps
• Knorr-Bremse braking system, UIC type
