Innovation takes centre stage at InnoTrans 2026

“Global mobility – shaping projects and growth opportunities” is the official opening theme of InnoTrans 2026.
Thirty years after its debut, this year the major railway event, a global showcase for innovation, will bring together at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds from 22 to 25 September the most significant developments and trends in the international rail transport and mobility sector. GCF will once again be present with its own exhibition stand (Hall 26B, Stand 315).

A concrete platform built with millimetric precision, a monorail guidance system, electric traction installations and power substations designed as a single integrated system. T2 Bergamo–Villa d'Almè: Towards Completion

Priority PNRR works on the Valle Brembana line completed

Final finishing activities are underway on the construction site of the new T2 Bergamo–Villa d'Almè light rail line. Following the completion of the main infrastructure works on 30 June, fully in compliance with the deadlines set by Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the project has now entered its final phase as required by ministerial provisions: a 60-day period dedicated to completing the remaining works, carrying out technical testing and pre-revenue service trials ahead of the line entering operation by the end of the year.

GCF Research to Be Presented at the 9WCSCM

Monitoring insulated rail joints with optical fibre in Sheffield

Research conducted by GCF – Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie on railway infrastructure monitoring will be presented at the 9th World Conference on Structural Control and Monitoring (9WCSCM), to be held from 19 to 22 July 2026 at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. At the heart of the international conference will be the scientific paper "A Field-Based Damage Index for Insulated Rail Joints Using FBG Extensometers", developed by GCF in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano.
